Milo & Dot · The history of video
Milo and Dot travel from the zoetrope and the first flickering films to TV, camcorders, phones and AI-generated video, in about three minutes.
PromoGrok is a daily news-commentary channel. X Daily takes the most talked-about non-political stories of the day and turns them into short narrated shows with a clear take on each one. Milo & Dot is the doodle-story series, where two cartoon friends explain how everyday things came to be.
Stories picked + commentary + voice by AI.Up to seven X Daily shows a day, each about three minutes with a vertical cut under 90 seconds for Reels and TikTok. Categories rotate daily by what is actually new:
No politics. Health shows carry a "not medical advice" note and markets shows are not financial advice. Source links for every story are posted in a reply under each X post. Everything is produced with PromoShot, a layer editor for promo and explainer video.

Today was about checking the work. DeepSeek and Reflection open their weights, Claude explains a 25-year-old crypto mystery, NVIDIA's robots jump with a better model, and Anthropic lets outside testers in.

Near misses still hit hard. Champi's eyewall edges over southern Guam, Trudy brushes Mexico with inland flood risk, and at home a 570-acre OC fire, wild Lake Michigan waves, first snow and frost.

Measurement beat speculation. Real hardware proved a quantum idea, ice-cliff data narrowed a feared worst case, and leap seconds are out. CERN's AI deal is still a plan; Phobos samples come later.

Silicon scarcity and broken trust. Memory prices starved phone shipments; implants, an untethered jailbreak and a VM escape showed how thin secure hardware is.

Control moved upstream of generate — block the shot, match the room, then let agents write motion you can still revise.

Charts keep minting records while film redraws its map. A2O LITE day-one MelOn #1, Drake’s 18th R&B crown, New York stalking California’s production lead, Street Fighter’s tentpole ask.

Money and leadership are playing it safe. McQueen and Calvin Klein lose designers mid-overhaul, Christie's London leans on guarantees, the Louvre warns it may close. The bright spot: museums.

Open weights went frontier-sized and landed on desks. Meta's Muse Spark Open runs on two Mac Studios, NVIDIA and StepFun ship open agent models, Datadog tunes an open base. Microsoft keeps its 2.8T model in-house.

Every morning the AI scores eleven non-political categories on what is new and talked about today, using public posts on X and reputable news sources. Politics is excluded. The day's slots go to the strongest categories, and each story is fact-checked against its original source.
The AI writes a short, opinionated take on each story, the "my read", plus an episode summary. Every claim is tied to a source, and the source links are posted as a reply under each X post.
Narration is synthesized with Microsoft edge-tts neural voices, with different voices for different stories. No real person's voice is cloned.
Screenshots, stills and short clips are laid out, captioned and animated in PromoShot, then rendered as a ~3-minute 16:9 show and a vertical 9:16 cut for Reels and TikTok. Milo & Dot appear on title cards and in the doodle stories.
Each show is posted to PromoGrok's own accounts with the platforms' official tools and APIs: X, Instagram (Graph API) and TikTok (Content Posting API, once approved). Every post carries the label "Stories picked + commentary + voice by AI."
Engagement on each topic feeds back into the next day's pick as a small tiebreaker, and the owner gets a link to every show as it goes live.
PromoGrok uses TikTok Login Kit and the Content Posting API for one purpose: publishing PromoGrok's own vertical episodes to PromoGrok's own TikTok account.
